If you are looking at this page then perhaps you are curious about me. You probably saw me in a fan fic community, so here's my blurb about fan fiction:
My first OTP was Lance/JC from NSYNC. Yes, I was quite young at the time. I never wrote any stories, but I read a lot. Next was lotrps fandom Billy/Dom. I did write that pairing, but under a different name. I dabbled in the Narutoverse for a while, but now I think I've settled into HP. Remus/Sirius is omgtheirloveissocanon. Fred/George is... a guilty pleasure. The sporking of Mary Sues makes me feel warm inside.

Outside of that realm, I love computes and cute things (which aren't mutually exclusive!). I'm currently a junior double majoring in computer science and math at a small university in the US. I am the managing editor of the student newspaper, co-president of the BLGTA, and social chair of the Association for Computing Machinery. I do research in the CS department here, and I was first published at the tender age of 18.

OurCS: Day 1

First day in Pittsburgh at OurCS!
I had quite an adventure this morning. I was supposed to take the bus to campus from Austin's apartment. The instructions he left me said to take 61* or 59U. Last night he pointed on the window and told me to go to the blue bus stop sign, and gave me $1.75.
So this morning I headed out the door and went up to the first blue bus stop sign I could see. Within a minute or two a bus labeled 61C pulled up. I got on and asked the driver if I payed when I got on or off. He was very short when he said to pay when I got off. After about 10 minutes on the bus, the driver says that it is the last stop and every one has to get off!
At that point I'm stranded with no cash in the middle of a ghetto. I called Austin, and he informed me that I had gotten on the bus going in the wrong direction! He found an ATM nearby (thank you Google!) and I broke the 20 at a Dollar General (and got some Diet Pepsi). He even was able to use Google Transit to find the nearest bus stop and the time that a 61C would depart.
This time I asked the driver if this route went to CMU. He wasn't very nice though about telling me that for this bus I had to pay when I got on. There were lots of strange people on the bus. I saw a blind guy and lots of old people and mentally handicapped people.
Also, I'm totally sick of Comic Sans now. I ate dinner at the Detroit airport last night at a "Gourmet PB&J" stand. All of their signage was in Comic Sans. Then when I got to Austin's apartment I played a demo for Viva Pinata. I was all excited until text came up. It was MORE Comic Sans! So then our first speaker at the conference did her ENTIRE presentation in Comic Sans. Black Comic Sans on white slides. *vomit*
I'm doing "research" in experimental mathematics while I'm here. The guy we are working with is really cool. We're working with cellular automata and some research that Wolfram did. We looked at Surpenski triangles today. Penis. Haha, penis. :P
